I purchased a device from this company and subscribed to their basic plan--free! I used this device rarely; only when I was in Riverside County, CA and in Phoenix, AZ--Just a two or three times a year for a period of not more than three weeks.

I did upgrade during some of those times, but reverted back to the 'basic plan' when I left the area. Freedom Pop kept putting charges through to the my Amex Card and ATM Card I gave them to pay for the occassional upgrades, even after I had cancelled them. Finally, in frustration, I disputed their charges to my Accounts and had them charged back. In retaliation, Freedom Pop cancelled my access to their network.

Fine! I was glad to be rid of them and threw the device in a drawer. This all happened during the first half of 2016. It is now June, 2017--one year later.

On reviewing my bank statement, I noted on May 30, 2017, Freedom Pop put through a charge of .01 (one cent.) obviously using the ATM Card No. they had on file from previous transactions. I can only conclude they are trolling for any account they can potentially access and loot. I will not wait for them to take a bigger hit.

I have cancelled my ATM Card as that is the only way to block these crooks. Beware!!

Reason of review: Not as described/ advertised.

Monetary Loss: $100.

Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution.

Freedompop Cons: Humiliating -- tantamount to assault.

Same here. FreedomPop are crooks!

They upgraded my international calling themselves and the website won't let me downgrade it. The credit I had on the account also went missing with no apparent charges.

They're impossible to get ahold of. They are indeed thieves.

Yes and no...call "customer support" and select "billing". They didn't upgrade, you "accidentally" selected it when you got the international data free trial screen.

You have to press the fine print "I don't want free stuff".

It happened to me, they refunded me the $3.99 but the 300 minute plan can't be removed until it expires. Terrible programming, very deceptive, but you can get it refunded, especially if you didn't use any minutes calling internationally.
